Abtract Summary
If some Native Americans now speak English, have they actually "vanished"?
Nonsense! DNA does
not lie. Should they be publicly ridiculed for
restoring the language of their native forefathers? Sounds absurd, doesn't
it? As the subject of a highly disingenuous article by Prof. Jenny H. Larsson in a popular Swedish magazine, Pashka reiterates that his restored Jatvingian lexicon is of an Indigenous Peoples' Language - with which he has local cultural and direct genetic connections to, and has by birthright an Indigenous Right to use that language & culture without discrimination ( or intentional public defamation ). Språktidningen declined to publish a rebuttal. TERRA JATWEZENORUM was the birthplace of Raphael Lemkin, who created the word "Ethnocide". Professor Larsson states the Jatvingians have "vanished". Not only is that a lie - it is, by definition, ethnocide. DNA does not lie. Mes paliksim. Kails! |
- Joseph Pashka, 3/18/2016 |
English Translation of the Swedish Rebuttal above
A Rebuttal to – Do not list the words! - in Språktidningen 10/2015 "Do not list the words!" is a directive to conceal the evidence. This is not what I would expect of Scandinavians, but who am I ? I am Joseph Pashka, the "villain" of the article. Professor J. H. Larsson, who is an expert on Baltic languages, says Joseph Pashka's website with Jatvingian words are "pure fantasy" and "forgery". If Joseph Pashka's website is "pure fantasy" and "forgery", why does Professor Larsson use the same words, such as Sudovian "Kellewesze", in her 2010 publication? Professor Larsson is concealing information. Professor Larsson noted that the website has grammatical paradigms and a small section of phrases, which would be great if we knew a lot about this language, but unfortunately, the reality is different. A Grammar of the closely related Old Prussian has been in print since 1974. It also includes such grammatical paradigms. Joseph Pashka corresponded with the author long ago. The website has reference to his book, and even a picture. So why conceal the existence of such a Grammar ? Is not a repetitive concealment of facts a deliberate misrepresentation of them ? Remember the title? Conceal the evidence! Please comply ! As for "fantasy" phrases, most are two simple words, like "Good day." Joseph Pashka still use them when writing to an Old Prussian scholar, by now old friends This is not rocket science. Professor Larsson claimed the only thing preserved is a small dictionary containing 215 words. Professor Larsson knows very well of a medieval book by H. Meletius about Sudovians, their customs, and samples of phrases in their language, and in fact used a Meletius resource (re: "Kellewesze") in her 2010 publication. A reference to the Meletius' book and reproduction of his Sudovian words (like " kails ") is found in the introduction to the restored lexicon of Joseph Pashka. But why conceal these facts ? The plot thickens! Professor Larsson mentioned the river and lake names near to my family's old homestead that describe color ( "kirsn- words," black ", and gail-," white "), but concealed mention of these exact same words in my restored lexicon. Professor Jenny H. Larsson also concealed mention of K. Buga, whose exact same ( "kirsn- & gail- " ) text she evidently plagiarized as her own original research. See Page 78, in "Kalba Ir Senove", by K. Buga ( Kaunas, 1922 ). Professor Larsson concealed mention of my use of the word "restored" to describe my lexicon. Professor Larsson seems obsessed with the concealment of information that does not support her less than flattering accusations about me. The restored Lord's Prayer and the Ave Maria were never discussed. Why not ? My restored lexicon is just an ordinary man's conservation of an indigenous language, and as a genetically tested direct descendant of a Jatvingian, it is my indigenous right to do so, and my right to use media without discrimination ( Articles 13 and 16 ). My website has a user guideline. It allows Sudovian and Jatvingian users. Period mark. Period. Others may view it, but not use it. To err is human, but Professor J. H. Larsson has exceeded her limit. I do not like Defamation. I should not be expected to like it. Swedish law prohibits it. - Joseph Pashka
